Jessica Vance
from Leading with Inquiry (Texas, USA)
Curiosity is a driver for rich and deeply connected learning in our classrooms but how do we intentionally plan for it? During this session, we’ll explore the topic that is synonymous with inquiry, uncovering the depth and complexity of curiosity in all parts of planning and learning with an inquiry mindset. Participants will take a closer look at the role that provocations have to ignite curiosity and the value they have in our roles as facilitators and observers of inquiry.
This session delves deep into the essential elements that nurture curiosity highlighting the complex skill of questions and giving participants an opportunity to pause and reflect on their roles in creating a culture of questioning and curiosity while uncovering common misconceptions related to planning for and nurturing curiosity. You'll walk away with four powerful moves (and loads of action steps you can put into practice right away!) to support your students as they make meaning with their learning.
