Online Course: Using Thinking Maps to Teach Afrikaans

Elmarie Petersen

By correctly using Thinking Maps, teachers can design consistent, clear higher-order thinking patterns for their students. Thinking Maps promote deeper engagement with the content as well as engagement with other students. The Maps reveal thinking as it happens and lead to deeper understanding of concepts and relationships between ideas.

This course is aimed at teachers of Afrikaans for Gr 4 - Gr 12. The Thinking Maps will enhance the teaching and learning of writing skills, improve vocabulary, and assist students to make connections between ideas.

Elmarie is one of TSSA's top trainers and she has worked at embedding Thinking Maps into her practice for many years. She will give you practical tips, advice and ideas on how to implement the Thinking Maps. If you teach Afrikaans, you will benefit hugely from taking this course.
