T4 World Education Week
Time & Location
About the Event
T4 World Education Week will be held between 5th -9th October and will facilitate 100 virtual school events which will form a Global Showcase during the week. The overall theme for World Education Week is 'Learning Today' and is aligned with the following themes:
- Building programmes to enhance employability, entrepreneurship and life skills
- The use of technology
- Promoting the science of learning and teaching
- Deepening family and community engagement
- Focusing on wellbeing
After thousands of applications, internationally, we are proud to announce that Roedean School is one of the 100 schools to be chosen to be showcased, focussing on the theme "Deepening Family and Community Engagement". The roles of our Social Responsibility and Thinking Skills programmes are blended in this submission, and we will be presenting an online panel discussion on the 6th October, at 1pm, for an hour, as one of 100 showcases.
Executive Head of Roedean, Fiona Rogers, stated, " The global coronavirus pandemic has highlighted both world-wide inequalities and the interdependence of communities. There is an urgent need to develop strong leadership within communities to implement social programmes and to bring greater equity to education, solving these problems will require new ways of thinking, as well as the development of socially conscious dispositions such as deep empathy for others. The World Education Week initiative will bring opportunities to showcase work being done in these field and we are, therefore, both delighted and honoured to have been chosen to participate in this inaugural event. We hope that our experience within the sub-theme of "Deepening Family and Community Engagement" will inspire others to take action and that we, in turn, will learn from others so that we can enrich our contribution further."
